Polaroid exposures on foamcore.
In the year this piece was composed, Polaroid stopped production of its instant film. I decided to utilize the dying medium and manipulate the final result out of a love of experiment. In an effort to fulfill a ‘formalist’ vision, I took close cropped shots of mundane objects, lifting them from their context, to give them a symbolic and, hopefully, other-worldly significance. The title is derived from the self-same titled work by Flannery O’Connor.
